About the Artist

Danielle is a mosaic artist based in Philadelphia and fuses her passion for product design with her knowledge of the fashion industry, earned from seven years of working in a retail buying office. She measures her success based on the joy each custom mosaic brings to her customers, the memories they preserve and the dialogue they start about how we choose to commemorate life milestones.

Danielle has developed & designed product that is sold in retail stores nationwide, is a street art activist with the Percy Street Project, and is an active member of the Philly Jewish community as a Rosh Chodesh facilitator and Moishe House Without Walls host. She graduated  from Drexel University with a B.S. in Design & Merchandising in 2014 and was a Tribe12 Fellow in 2019. She became Drexel Hillel’s first ever Artist Educator in Residence in 2021.

Artist Statement

My purpose is to make the family heirlooms of tomorrow from the treasures of yesterday. I am drawn to textures, finishes, and objects imbued with history. Taking a shattered, broken artifact and transforming it into something new is how I try to approach life, not just my art practice. I find meaning in connecting with the people I design for, honoring the sacred materials they entrust me with, and celebrating life cycle moments through custom art.

“Danielle was a true gem to work with. She supplied high quality work for a reasonable price and was extrememly kind and caring during the whole process. She was one of the very few shops that I came across who did custom framing with the Jewish Glass from our wedding…we could not be more thrilled with how it came out!” – Nicholas
“I couldn’t believe this was your first workshop! I thought your workshop was excellent. You were so thoughtful, patient with us, and concerned with our safety working with the materials. The way you set everything up took the stress out of the artistic process and just made it so fun.”
– Lauren
“We got married last year and had no idea what to do with the broken glass from our wedding, and then we discovered HamsaMade. The hamsa mosaic became a magical keepsake of our wedding day and it is beautifully displayed on our mantel. It is truly a work of art, and the vibrant colors remind us of the beauty of our wedding every time that we look at it. We could not happier with the service and quality of the mosaic.” – Michael G.
“I ordered three hamsas from HamsaMade, following my wedding, as a gift to my mother in law, mom, and one for our new home. I couldn’t be happier with the end result. Danielle used pieces of our broken wedding glass and plate to make unique beautiful pieces that commemorate the day our family came together. Thank you so much for the beautiful work!” – Bluma M.
